Summer Reading Recommendations

If you haven't yet picked up a new book for summer reading, try one of the recommendations from the National Public Radio list at www.npr.org/programs/totn/summerread00.html. This list was compiled by Ray Suarez, host of NPR's Talk of the Nation; Carolyn Alessio, deputy literary editor of the Chicago Tribune; Carla Cohen, co-owner of the Politics and Prose Bookstore; and Walter Kirn, book reviewer at New York Magazine. It's supplemented with entries from the general public, so you can enter your own recommendation once you've read a book.

Reading is one of the all-time best summer activities for children. To find just the right book for a young person, take a look at www.planetesme.com. Books on this site are recommended by Madame Esmé who worked as a children's bookseller for seven years and a children's librarian for three. More importantly, every book on this list has been read-aloud tested and kid approved!

Pick a book from this list and then get a special BeyondWork discount when you purchase it at Barnes and Noble.
